10 Short Creepypasta Horror Stories That Will Make You Shudder

This podcast features various scary stories and creepypasta from popular Youtuber MaddMike. The ‘Assassin,' as the figure is called by the creepypasta's unnamed author, seems to be designed to stop the player from waiting in place long enough to discover what's behind a mysterious door. The original story was created by Alex Hall and was later turned into an alternate reality video game.

The story itself is a familiar one in the world of urban legend and creepypasta, but the image circulated with it has always added to its legitimacy - I still avoid looking at it, even though I was much younger when it first scared the crap out of me. Interestingly there seems to be two different versions of the 'smile dog' image - the one at the link above is different to the one I remember, which can be found with a Google search.

Jeff heard the twin pops of two car doors shutting in near unison, and then heard the engine start up. He dropped the game controller and peered out of Randy's bedroom window, just in time to see his mother and Randy's mother backing out of the driveway.

She bent over and picked up a hand saw from the left side of where she was sitting. Jeff's mom looked down to see the black dress pants narration and white hoodie her son wore. Time passed slowly and by late afternoon Jimmy was nauseous with hunger, made worse by the potent smell coming from his bed in the afternoon heat.

Creepypastas then become immersive, multimedia narratives— a feat that could not be achieved by oral narrative traditions such as folklore and urban legends; the stories then become believable despite questionable origins or even obvious lack of credibility.
